Application of K-Means Clustering Method for City Grouping on Food Plant Productivity in North Sumatera

    Get PDF
The development of population increases every year, causing food needs to expand to meet food needs by increasing food crop productivity so that food availability can be sufficient. Food crops consist of rice, corn, green beans, peanuts, cassava, and sweet potatoes. Productivity in each region has different characteristics, and therefore it is necessary to group the areas so that solution can be implemented by each of the components of the region. The purpose of this study is to group districts/cities in North Sumatera Province based on food crop productivity using the k-means clustering method. Clustering k-means is a method of grouping non-hierarchical data that attempts to partition existing data into one or more clusters or groups so that data that has the same characteristics are grouped into one same characteristic are grouped into other groups. The result of this study is the formation of 3 city district clusters, namely, cluster 1 amounting to 1 regency/city, cluster 2 totaling seven districts/cities, and cluster 3 totaling 25 districts/cities

Algorithm Symmetric 2-DLDA for Recognizing Handwritten Capital Letters

Statistical pattern recognition is the process of using statistical techniques to obtain information and make informed decisions based on data measurements. It is possible to solve the doubt inherent in the objective function of the 2-Dimension Linear Discriminant Analysis by employing the symmetrical 2-Dimension Linear Discriminant Analysis approach. Symmetrical 2-dimensional linear discriminant analysis has found widespread use as a method of introducing handwritten capital letters. Symmetric 2-DLDA, according to Symmetric 2-DLDA, produces better and more accurate results than Symmetric 2-DLDA. So far, pattern recognition has been based solely on computer knowledge, with no connection to statistical measurements, such as data variation and Euclidean distance, particularly in symmetrical images. As a result, the aim of this research is to create algorithms for recognizing capital letter patterns in a wide range of handwriting. The ADL2-D symmetric method is used in this study as the development of the ADL2-D method. The research results in an algorithm that considers the left and right sides of the image matrix, as opposed to ADL2-D, which does not consider the left and right sides of the image matrix. In pattern recognition, the results with symmetric ADL2-D are more accurat

Controlling the supply of disposable medical devices at RSUD Dr. Pringadi not completely running well. The purpose of this research is to control the supply of disposable medical devices in order to determine the amount optimal ordering and to find out the number of reorders on all types of disposable medical devices. In this research also did calculating the value of the investment in each type. Calculation results for the investment level group of 0-70% has 11 types of disposable medical devices with a financial value of IDR 64,136,040.00 or 70% of the total investment with Economic Order Quantity can be ordered from a total of 14-152 items, Buffer Stock or safety stock starts stocking from 1-198 items and Reorders Points range from 1-318 items. For the investment level group 71-90% have 21 types of disposable medical devices with a financial value of Rp 181,953,529.00 or 20% of the total investment with EOQ can be ordered from quantity 2-21237item, buffer stock from 2-1237item and ROP from reordered 4-1987item.For the investment level group of 91-100% has 71 types of disposable medical devices with a financial value of Rp 85,103,749.00 or 9.4% of the total investment with EOQ calculations ordered starting from 1-421, buffer stock starting from 2-247 items and ROP starting from 2 - 397items.So this research is useful to help the warehouse Pharmacist at RSUD Dr. Pringadi in controlling the supply of medical devices disposable

Challenges of Using ICT in assessing and Developing Students’ affective Domain in Education

    Get PDF
ICT is becoming an inevitable tool in education nowadays. For any academic activities to be effective, the use of ICT is imperative. There are also a lot of benefits and improvement that ICT has brought to the field of education. These benefits and development cut across all spheres of education, such as the aspect of content, instruction and evaluation. In area of evaluation, the cognitive and psychomotor aspects of evaluation are mostly developed, based on the fact that both can be easily accessed through ICT. However, in the aspect of affective domain, the level of assessment is low and not absolutely reliable because it deals with the feelings, interest and values that learner attached to the subject matter. Hence, this study aimed at finding an effective way that ICT can be used to assess students’ affective domain in the process of evaluation. In order to get in-depth understanding of the subject matter, the study employs qualitative design by using semi-structured interview to elicit information from specialists in the field of communication technology. Findings from the study indicate that the use of ICT to evaluate student affective domain requires an illustrious, diligent, and enthusiastic ICT literate teacher. Equally, there is a need to develop software that will focus more on the evaluation of students’ affective domain. Meanwhile, this area that will develop students’ soft skills is greatly needed to produce good citizens, employees, and government of their individual community

Mathematics as a vehicle for education has the purpose of educating students, forming the personality of students, and developing certain skills so that they can direct students to learning values in life through mathematics. One of the fundamental problems in education in Indonesia is the lack of students who can understand mathematical concepts well. One method that promises to reduce this problem is the group project method
